Telkomsel has just officially released their latest service, the 4G LTE in Indonesia. For the moment, the service is available in some parts of Jakarta area, and Bali.
The 4G LTE service uses 900MHz band. So, if you want to experience the service, make sure that your LTE smartphone supports 900MHz frequency. Your current SIM card also has to be returned to the nearest GraPARI (Telkomsel's service center) and replaced with the new card that supports the 4G. No worries, you can still use your old number.
How about the tariff?
According to Telkomsel, there are 2 packages for prepaid users. The Basic package, IDR 80K (Simpati) for 2GB of data or IDR 60K (Kartu As/Loop) for 1.3GB data and Combo package, IDR 80K (Simpati) for 100 minutes of voice, 300 SMS, and 3,5GB of data and IDR 60K (Kartu As/Loop) for 100 minutes of voice, 200 SMS and 1,8GB of data.
If this is true, the Combo 80K package for Simpati is the most interesting.
