If you are in the situation where you can't reset your smartphone from UI menu, in this case, ZenUI, for example, your gadget is password secured and you forgot the password, you can try with power and volume up button. And then, follow this way:

- First, make sure your Zenfone battery is fully charged, or at least enough to supply power during reset and restore process takes place (about 5-10 minutes)
- Power off the Zenfone
- Turn on by pressing the power button and volume (+) combinations for about 10-15 seconds
- In Droidboot menu, select the option Recovery using the volume down and press the power button for OK
- Next, the display will show the Android logo was killed (No command)
- Press the volume down (-), after that press the volume up (+). After both of the butten is pressed, release the volume up (+) first, after that, release the volume down (-)
- This will bring up Android system recovery menu. To reset the Zenfone, select wipe data / factory reset. Then click the power button
- OS will confirm whether you are really sure to delete all data. Move the cursor to the option Yes - delete all user data
- After clicking the power button, Zenfone will be returned to factory settings. When the process is complete, at the top you select the option to reboot the system now
- After the restart, Zenfone will ask you to re-enter language options, input method, internet connection and others as well as when you buy a new smartphone
