Print Your Food using XYZPrinting's 3D Food Printer


3D printer is a common technology these days. A lot of vendors has released their products to the market, although the price of 3D printers are still quite expensive. They used some kind of plastic materials to print the 3D models.

At CES 2015, a company named XYZPrinting went even further. They make a 3D printer with eadible printing materials. According to the maker, this is one of the first food printers to be mass produced. Consumers can start eating the print result in the second half of this year.

Today, the printer can only used chocholate and dough and can print pastries or cake decorations. The 3D cookies design itself are stored online and downloaded to the printer via USB or PC with Windows 7, 8, and MacOS X. The size of the food can be as big as 19,8 x 14,9 x 14,9cm.

Not bad for a hungry stomach. Hopefully there will be a printer that can print steaks, fried chicken or barbeque. Yummy!
