Oppo to Manufacture 4G Smartphone in Indonesia in April 2015

Indonesian government requests that every single 4G smartphone must have 40% minimum of local content if it is going to be distributed in Indonesian market. To meet these requirement, Oppo established their first factory, outside their base in mainland China, in Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia.

Around 30 million USD has been spent by Oppo to build the 27.000 square meter plant. Currently, they are preparing the manufacturing machineries and will begin to operate in April 2015. Oppo plan to generate 500.000 smartphone per month for Indonesian market only.

The good news is, they are also developing R&D team in Indonesia and open to cooperation with local component manufacturers, such as battery, case, and other parts.

Hmm... I'm beginning to like Oppo.
