Highligths, New Feature from Twitter for Mobile Users

Twitter, one of the most popular social networking service has recently introduced 'While you were away' feature. If you haven't heard of it before, instead of showing you all the tweets you missed in reverse chronological order, this feature will show the “best tweets” based on user engagement. When users open the Twitter app, it is the first thing they see in their main Twitter feed.

Now, they got new feature, Highlights. This one will give a simple summary of the best tweets for users. The summary will be delivered via a push notification.

According to Twitter official blog, Highlights “lets you catch up quickly on the best stuff that is most relevant to you.” They look at “accounts and conversations that are popular among people you follow, Tweets from people you’re closely tied to, topics and events that are trending in your area or within your network, and people that are popular or trending among people you follow.”

If user turn this feature on, they will get notification on their phone, twice a day. And when they open, the Twitter app will open and show the Highlights. Just swipe left to right to view all the highlights.

Nice.
