HTC Desire 816G, Wow!

HTC has just officially launched some of their upcoming mainstream smartphone for Indonesian market. One of them is the HTC Desire 816G.

At first, we can see this phone is equipped with the required specs for the current mainstream Android smartphone. 5,5" display with HD 720p resolution and 267 ppi, 13MP main and 5MP front camera with autofocus, LED flash, face detection and all. Seems OK.

HTC provides dual GSM slots. Which is good and required for today's phone. But, only HSPA support up to 21Mbps started to make it less attractive. If not 4G, at least they can put HSPA+ up to 42Mbps, right?

Then comes the OS. HTC Desire 816G have Android 4.4.2 KitKat running. Wow, hopefully they are preparing at least Lollipop 5.0. The option of octa-core 1,7GHz (Mediatek MT6592) or quad-core 1,3GHz (Mediatek MT6582) is quite OK. I'm fine they choose those value CPU instead of Snapdragon 615 or 410.

For storage, HTC provides 8GB or 16GB internal and microSD slot up to 32GB. Yes. 32GB. And then 1GB of RAM. Really? Why HTC, why? And then the price? Rp3,299,000. Oh, wow! I'm really not OK with this.
